
With a bachelor's in textile technology and a master's in management, Balar joined ITC in 2000. After spending the first two years in sales in Delhi, Kerala and Chennai, and a brief stint in brand building in 2004 he moved to develop and launch ITC's personal care products business. Balar helped shape the personal care business and designed its strategic entry into the Indian market in 2005. He launched brands like Essenza Di Wills, Fiama, Vivel and Superia which are household names today.
Product Innovation has been Subash's forte and with each new brand, innovation continues to be at the core. In addition, Balar has helped craft the brand philosophy of Vivel, Ab Samjhauta Nahin and leads the team to build support and spread the brand philosophy. Currently, Balar heads the Personal Wash and Fragrances Business and Exports Business as the Vice-President at ITC.
He is also the Chair of the Marketing Sub-Committee, Eastern Region, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Beyond work, he is extremely passionate about painting.
