Shailja is the Chief Content Officer at Omnicom Media Group, India where she heads the organization’s content practice to deliver future-ready solutions rooted in storytelling for brands. With a vision to make commerce follow the consumer through connected content and solutions, Shailja is a senior industry leader with a deep understanding of the craft of weaving data into results-oriented storytelling.
Armed with nearly two decades of experience in the content industry spanning across digital, television, and media, Shailja has many distinctive achievements to her credit.
Before joining the Omnicom Media Group, Shailja was heading the content division at Zee5’s short video platform. Over the years, she has lent her expertise to companies such as Discovery Networks, NGC Fox international channels, UTV Network, Wavemaker India and Singapore and Brand New Media content marketing agency in APAC.
Shailja has launched programming divisions within TV networks, managed content practices for media agencies in India, Singapore, and Indonesia, conceptualised OTT audience platforms, and created and led content labs for L'Oréal and SPH (Singapore Press Holding Group) in the Asia Pacific region.
A motivational speaker, lyricist, writer and well-known podcaster invested in the study of human behavior, Shailja dons many creative hats in addition to her role as a content chief. As a certified mindfulness trainer, she has trained over 450 people in three countries and has consulted and organized leadership training and empowerment workshops at corporations like Discovery Networks, WHO, LG, Wipro and more. In her spare time, Shailja enjoys spending time with her family, writing, painting, creating videos for her YouTube Channel and hosting her podcast The Everyday Guide with Shailja Saraswati.
