Launched on July 6 and having amassed over a million signups in just 1.5 hours of launch, quicker than that of OpenAI, Meta’s Threads will soon bring in Instagram’s branded content tools on its platform, as per reports.
As of now, the tech giant has not confirmed its plan for introducing ad formats on the ‘copycat’ app and claims that it will only happen once it garners “critical” mass.
But, in a respite, several reports, citing sources from Meta, state that the tech giant is planning to bring in Instagram’s branded content tools to Threads which allow companies to add paid partnership labels to posts.
This development is clearly drawing a lot of eyeballs from the marketing fraternity as leveraging on Threads growing popularity, first through organic content, and once allowed through paid promotions, certainly seems to be a good spot for brands who wish to have a first-mover advantage therein.
While the work of bringing branded content tools on Threads is still in progress, brands are being advised to disclose any form of paid partnership through the usage of text and hashtags, as multiple corporations and brands have already set up their account on Threads and having begun tasting the waters there by posting content organically.
