New Delhi: Swiggy has introduced a new group ordering feature that enables up to 40 customers to place orders simultaneously and add items to a single cart, making it easier to coordinate food orders for large groups.

To promote this feature, Swiggy created a film that brings together a diverse and quirky group of influencers, making for a humorous and entertaining experience.

The film playfully addresses the chaos that often comes with group food orders. It begins with a man asking, "Toh kya khaenge aap?" (What will you eat?), triggering a series of comedic responses from various influencers.

Each character, from Puneet Superstar shouting for Yakhni Pulao to Dolly Chaiwala being open to anything foreign, adds their unique touch to the chaos.

The film also features Chandrika Gera, the famous vada pav girl and Bigg Boss 3 contestant, along with Laxmi Sharma, known for her viral "Level sabke niklenge" dialogue. Other characters include Qureshi, who continues to dance to "Dil vich tere liye time kadke," and Ganji Chudail, the viral animated character who makes a surprising appearance.

The film wraps up with the relatable question, "Kya aapke dost bhi aise hai?" (Are your friends like this too?), capturing the chaos of group food decisions.

Azazul Haque, Group Chief Creative Officer, Creativeland Asia opined that such marketing eventually kills the brand. He added that such gimmicks make people remember the character but not what the brand stands for.

He said, "Swiggy is struggling to deliver a message as much as it struggles to deliver a product," in a LinkedIn post.

However, the film garnered a lot of attention and praise with netizens comparing it with Zomato’s Feed For India initiative concert featuring Dua Lipa. The comments include, “Zomato might be bringing Dua Lipa, But Swiggy just won,” and “Swiggy wins the “ making best out or worst” competition.”

Some netizens also said, “Bro just copy pasted his last night’s dream!!!,” and “We got swiggy meme Collab before GTA 6.”
