Amul organised India’s first 24-hour non-stop Facebook live session to celebrate Teacher’s Day, from 2 pm September 5 till 2 pm September 6.
200 chefs participated in this initiative and every 30 minutes, a team of 3-4 chefs prepared dishes and dedicated them to their teachers.

The cook-a-thon was launched by the President of World Association of Chefs Society, Chef Thomas Gugler, and culminated with a session by Michelin Star Chef Suvir Saran.
During the 24-hour live cooking marathon, more than 1,500 viewers were able to gift their favourite teacher in real life, with an Amul Chocolate, by sending their wishes during the Facebook Live. Every hour, Amul selected 60 top dedications from viewers and sent a ‘Best Wishes Pack of Amul Chocolate’ on their behalf to the teacher.
Amul has been organising 8-12 sessions of Facebook Live cooking daily as part of its #SimpleHomeMadeRecipes campaign from April 17, 2020, to connect chefs from hotels and restaurants with their consumers at home. Over 1200+ Live cooking sessions have been completed in the last 140 days by 2500+ chefs from 50+ countries. Amul has been able to engage with more than 85 crore consumers from across the world during these four months with a total viewership of 120 million minutes with an average reach of almost one crore Facebook users daily. Amul’s Facebook Live cooking session in Tamil and Arabic with their local cuisines is also available on Amul Tamil Nadu and Amul Arabia Facebook pages, respectively.
