HDFC Ergo General Insurance has announced the launch of a movement to promote road safety and drive the importance of motor insurance through a film.
The film aims to bring about a behavioural change in vehicle owners, both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, nudging them to recognise the importance of insurance for financial security.
Directed by Karan Singh, the film features the couple RJ Anmol and Amrita Arora in the lead roles. It begins with a social experiment, where Anmol approaches individuals on the streets requesting Rs. 10/- to aid an accident victim. Without hesitating for a moment, the good samaritans oblige. Upon this, he further requests them to spare ten minutes to help the victims and leads them to a nearby auditorium. The true surprise unfolds as Arora presents the audience with the kin of a road accident victim.
It then showcases her narrating her plight due to the loss of the bread earner of the family. Her ordeal is further amplified owing to the absence of third-party motor insurance for the vehicle that committed the accident which prohibits her from accessing a financial security net in the form of third-party motor claim. As she narrates her heartfelt story, it leaves the audience with a heart-stirring message on ensuring safety for oneself and loved ones for such unforeseen events. The leads then highlight how third-party insurance is available for as low as Rs.10/- daily, something that none of the members thought before giving it away to help someone in the earlier part of the video.
Somesh Surana, Head - Digital Business Group and Marketing, HDFC Ergo General Insurance, said, “As a responsible insurer, we always strive to make a difference in the lives of consumers at large. While several initiatives are undertaken to increase responsible behaviour on the road, safety continues to be an area of concern. An unfortunate incident on the road can be devastating owing to the loss of life and the financial burden that may arise owing to it. It is therefore pertinent to ensure having a safety net that safeguards financial security. We will continue to initiate several initiatives in our goal to raise awareness of this issue, and truly believe that everyone will rally to bring about a change in the country.”
