An ex-employee of content platform ScoopWhoop, who is a popular presenter known for his ‘Unscripted’ series, has levied sexual harassment charges against SchoopWhoop’s CEO Satvik Mishra.
The ex-employee, Samdish Bhatia, who quit months earlier and then went to launch his own channel on YouTube, alleged that after the incident he had been ‘infantilised and threatened with offers of huge sums of money to keep shut and move on’.
Interestingly, Mishra too had decided to step down from his position a few days ago. The Scoopwhoop CEO had made the announcement public through an Instagram post, in which he cited ‘personal reasons’ and ‘harassment by an ex-employee’ as the reason behind his decision.
Earlier on January 14 too the former employee of Scoopwhoop, Bhatia, had put out a post in which he had alleged that he “was assaulted” and went on add that he was further traumatised by how the organisation chose to “deal with it and how they continue to do so, since they have made a clear choice to side with one of the senior-most people in the organisation.”
It is important to note that Scoopwhoop had been acquired by Good Glam Group in October last year. However, post the acquisition it was announced that the digital media and lifestyle content platform will continue to work as an independent brand, media house within the group.
