Finance content creator Shreyaa Kapoor in an episode of Spotlight by BuzzInContent highlighted that when it comes to brand deals and partnerships, the domain of finance requires a thorough understanding of the product and its suitability for the audience. This is crucial as people's financial well-being and physical health are directly at stake.

“When COVID-19 second wave was at its peak around March-April 2021, that is when I started making my own content. My third or fourth video that I posted went viral. It was a video of me showing my dad my crypto portfolio and my dad is a CA so that adds another layer of finance there. His reaction was so funny that that video sort of clicked and it got 6-7 million views in a span of a day or two. I was not anticipating that because at that time I just had around 1,000 followers,” Kapoor said.

"When that happened, it made me realise that the only way to grow on Instagram is to create more video content. So, I shifted my focus more towards reels and the content just clicked with the audience. I got my first paid partnership within two months of doing this. That is when I felt that I can actually monetise what I do," she added.

Furthermore, she went on to say that when it comes to brand deals and partnerships, the domains of finance and possibly healthcare require a thorough understanding of the product and its suitability for the audience. This is crucial as people's financial well-being and physical health are directly at stake. It is of utmost importance to recognise the importance of comprehending the identity of your potential partners.

When asked about how Kapoor manages and adheres to the constantly evolving rules and regulations governing influencer marketing, especially in the finance industry, she explained that she follows a specific approach.

She emphasised that since she embarked on her journey as an influencer, particularly in the realm of investment, she has consistently adhered to two principles when engaging in paid partnerships. Firstly, she personally uses the product for approximately a month before endorsing it. Secondly, she always clarifies that her recommendations are not investment advice but rather personal suggestions based on her own positive experience with the product.

When asked about the regulations on influencers, Kapoor said, "Regarding personal finance, there are numerous aspects to consider. We have budgeting, savings, taxation, insurance, investing and so on. When it comes to investing, indeed, regulation is necessary due to the presence of individuals seeking quick financial gains. Consequently, they tend to follow any advice they receive without much scrutiny. However, I believe that the implementation of regulations in the investment field would greatly benefit many people, as it would limit investment advice solely to authorised entities like SEBI. On the other hand, when it comes to other domains of personal finance, I believe that regulation may not be essential."
